More lodges, campsites and roads open in Yellowstone

Good news for visitors to Yellowstone – the popular park continues to approach a full reopening.

According to an update from Xanterra Travel Collection and Yellowstone National Park Lodges, nearly all major roads in the park are now open to all vehicles and the alternate license plate system has been suspended.

Additionally, seven of Yellowstone National Park’s nine lodges as well as the five campgrounds operated by Xanterra are open to visitors for lodging, camping, dining, gift shopping, and touring. These include Canyon Lodge & Cabins, Lake Yellowstone Hotel & Cabins, Lake Lodge Cabins, Grant Village, Old Faithful Inn, Old Faithful Lodge, Old Faithful Snow Lodge, Madison Campground, Bridge Bay Campground, Grant Campground, Canyon Campground and Fishing Bridge RV Park.

Mammoth Hotel & Cabins and Roosevelt Lodge Cabins are still closed to the public.

Roads are also reopened, with 93% open to visitor vehicle traffic, including the main park roads (upper and lower loop). Three entries, one of which is from Cody, Wyoming; South Entrance of Jackson, Wyo.; and West Yellowstone, Montana West Entrance are open for park access. Two remain closed: The North and Northeast entrances to Montana.

Currently, for those looking for a last minute vacation, accommodations, campsites, and tours are available in Yellowstone National Park for the summer.
