Hamilton is the perfect destination for a day trip to Montana

We’ll just say it: if you haven’t been to Hamilton, you’re missing out on one of Montana’s finest gems. This small town of around 4,700 has serious charm, plenty of attractions and happens to be a gateway to an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities. Best of all, it’s so easy to drive from and around Missoula that you could easily make a day trip out of it.
It’s been a while since you considered visiting Hamilton? We are going to give you some good reasons to go there.
In these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list at a later date.
It’s also a fairly easy day trip destination if you live in Butte or Anaconda, although you should leave a bit earlier in the morning.

While the town revolved around the great Anaconda copper mine and the Bitter Root Stock farm, nowadays life here is much quieter.

Marcus Daly, also known as the Copper King, was a wealthy Irish immigrant who bought the house for his family’s summer residence in 1886. The immaculately preserved mansion has over 50 gorgeous rooms.

The museum is open five days a week (closed Sundays and Mondays) and exhibits tell the stories of Hamilton’s birth.

But it’s hard to top the legendary Naps Grill.

The burgers consistently win awards and have even been named to a “50 Best Burgers in the Nation” list. And they really live up to the hype.

Our state isn’t exactly known for its vineyards, but rest assured, this tasting room is 100% Montana.

Mike is a professional winemaker and he creates great wines.

They produce 35-40 unique beers every year, and they’re all made here.

Montana’s craft breweries are second to none, and this one is no exception.

It’s the jewel of the Bitterroot Valley, and the backdrop is breathtaking.
